New York, NY, Dec. 15, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE)

New York, NY, Dec. 15, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- More than 250,000 women living in the U.S. today were diagnosed with breast cancer before their 41st birthday, and approximately 12,000 young women will be diagnosed this year alone. Approximately 20-30% of women with early stage breast cancer will later develop metastatic, or stage IV, breast cancer.

Young Survival Coalition® (YSC), the premier organization dedicated to young women affected by breast cancer, is hosting the annual YSC Summit, February 23 - 25, 2018, in Orlando, Florida.

As part of the only national conference for young breast cancer survivors and their co-survivors (spouses, partners, family and friends), the YSC Summit will offer a retreat specifically for young women facing metastatic breast cancer.

“Living and Leaving a Legacy: Half Day Retreat for Young Women Living with Metastatic Breast Cancer” will be led by Lillie Shockney, RN, BS, MAS, ONN-CG, Administrative Director of Johns Hopkins Breast Center.

Young women living with metastatic breast cancer will have the opportunity to discuss the concept of legacy and think through the process of creating an impactful personal legacy. Issues addressed will include practical concerns as well as how young women can leave their mark on the world. Learn more about this dynamic retreat at summit.youngsurvival.org/mbc-retreat.

The YSC Summit will take place February 23 - 25, 2018 at the Renaissance Orlando at Seaworld, in Orlando, Florida. The registration fee is $145 per person until January 1, 2018, and then $175 until February 16. Onsite registration is $200. Fee waivers are available to those who qualify, and fundraising options are available to offset expenses.
