FCM Global First Company to be Awarded Full Medical Cannabis Licensing in Colombia

Cultivation, Processing, Manufacturing, and Export of Low-THC Cannabis Extracts for Medical and Research Uses

MEDELLIN, Colombia & LA CEJA, Colombia--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- FCM Global S.A.S. (“FCM”), a Colombian-founded producer of high-quality medical CBD extracts, has been granted Colombia’s first license to legally export low-THC cannabis oil extracts and related finished products for medical and research purposes. Recently issued by the Colombian Ministry of Justice, this export license complements FCM’s existing regulatory approvals, granted to the organization in August 2017, to legally cultivate, process, and manufacture low-THC medical cannabis oil extracts.

FCM, as the first Colombian company to receive the complete set of four licenses, is well-positioned to create CBD extracts at a low cost of production and to distribute finished oils for domestic and international markets with legalized medical/research frameworks – both of which are rapidly expanding as legalization trends continue to spread.

Carlos Velasquez, CEO and Founder of FCM, states: “We are proudly aligned with Colombia’s vision for becoming a regional leader in the medical cannabis industry and

greatly appreciate the continued trust placed in our efforts by the Colombian government. FCM believes that cannabis is the medical science market of the future, with enormous potential to generate breakthrough research and

Dr. Juan Carlos Restrepo, Chief Science Officer of FCM, adds: “Colombia’s thoughtful and rigorous regulatory framework, ideal equatorial growing location, and deep talent pool of medical cannabis experience makes it the best place on Earth to produce scalable volumes of terpene-rich cannabinoid extracts in an environmentally-friendly way. We are fortunate to have our seed-to-sale facilities within Colombia and remain committed to operate at levels of quality, sustainability, and transparency which set the standard for our evolving industry.”
